Celebrate Earth Day with an Herb Walk on the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy’s Ventura River Preserve with me and a group of like-minded nature lovers and students of the Earth. This walk will take place on Sunday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by an optional lunch gathering at Farmer and the Cook Cafe in Meiners Oaks for further discussion, sharing and camaraderie.

We will meet at the Riverview Trailhead on Rice Road in Meiners Oaks just south of the intersection of Rice and El Roblar Drive. Once we walk down a short but steep hill into the river bottom, this will be an easy-paced walk of about 1.5 miles on a level trail, suitable for hikers of all abilities, returning to the trailhead at 12 noon.

The cost for this walk is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors 62 and older, and $10 for students 13-18. Kids 5-12 can go free, one per adult, by prior arrangement. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No dogs, please. Payment by cash or check is accepted on the morning of the walk.

You can  register by clicking the REGISTER button below right now or return later to this event page or to the “Register for an Event” link in the left sidebar menu. There is no prepayment required, just your promise to notify me in a timely fashion if your plans change. You will receive a confirmation email several days before with all necessary info.
