SUMMARY:Herb Walks 50-Year Anniversary Garden Party
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate a half-century of nature connection! You are cordially invited to a morning garden party at the Ojai Valley Museum as we mark the 50th anniversary of “Herb Walks with Lanny Kaufer.” This is my opportunity to say “thank you” to the walkers\, hikers\, learners\, and collaborators who have made it possible for me to keep doing what I love all these years. \n\n\n\nThis free event takes place in the beautiful Chumash Garden\, a space dedicated to the native flora of our region. As a native plant consultant for the Museum\, I will lead a short tour to share the stories\, uses\, and ecology of the plants growing there. \n\n\n\nAmong the important and useful native plants used by the Chumash\, we’ll see: \n\n\n\n\nMugwort (molɨsh)\n\n\n\nWhite Sage (khapshɨkh)\n\n\n\nElderberry (qayas)\n\n\n\nHollyleaf and Catalina Cherry (‘akhtatapɨsh) \n\n\n\nMountain-Mahogany (pɨch)\n\n\n\nYarrow (yepunash)\n\n\n\nand many more\n\n\n\n\nWhether you have been joining walks since the 1970s or are just beginning your botanical journey\, please join us for a relaxed morning of community and gratitude.  \n\n\n\nEvent Highlights:\n\n\n\n\nGuided Mini-Tour: Explore the Chumash Garden and learn about our local native species.\n\n\n\nBook Signing: I will have copies of my book\, Medicinal Herbs of California\, available for purchase and signing.\n\n\n\nRefreshments: Enjoy light snacks and chilled herbal tea.\n\n\n\nCommunity: Connect with fellow plant enthusiasts and nature lovers.\n\n\n\n\nDetails:\n\n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday\, June 27\n\n\n\nTime: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nWhere: Chumash Garden at the Ojai Valley Museum\n\n\n\nParking: Free curbside on Blanche Street or next door at 180 N.Blanche St.\n\n\n\nCost: Free to the Public (Please RSVP so we can plan refreshments.)\n\n\n\n\nWe look forward to celebrating fifty years of walking the trails together! \n\n\n\nRSVP Here:\n\n\n\n	Notice: JavaScript is required for this content.
