In 2011, we had more Herb Walks on the VRP than anywhere else around Ventura County. The easy access and diversity of habitats makes it ideal for field study. Kudos to the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy for all the work they do to purchase and preserve these wild places.

I got laurel sumac, holly-leaved cherry, chamise (I liked what you told us about it being a good firewood in wet weather), poison oak, toyon, basketbush, desert sage, madrone, and manzanita. I just wanted to send a big “thank you” for the classes this weekend! I meant to share my thanks in person yesterday as I was leaving but you were busy speaking with others. The classes were so interesting, informative, and inspired! I had a great time and learned so much.
