Please join me for a natural history walk at Taft Gardens & Nature Preserve on Saturday, January 8th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon, meeting at 9:45 a.m. We will explore trails through the wild parts of the property, identify and discuss native plants, and observe birds and animal tracks in the context of local ecology. This event is a perfect fit with my personal mission to open a space for people to connect with the natural world, starting with the plant community. And Taft Gardens is an amazing place!

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Conservation Endowment Fund, the non-profit steward of Taft Gardens & Nature Preserve. Space is limited so register today at this webpage.

I enjoyed the herb walk very much, and learned many things. As a gardener I have a great love for and appreciation of plants but you have broadened my horizons with some knowledge of the healing properties of plants. Thank you for leading a terrific herb walk on a perfect day. In all my years in Ventura County, that was my first venture into the Potrero. I was immediately struck by the awe inspiring view of Mt. Haddock framed by complex sedimentary rock walls forming the canyon. I was a little surprised at the diversity of the flora in the canyon. Admittedly, I probably know less about botany than anyone else on the hike. The PDF document you attached will reinforce all of the in-field learning.

His herb walks makes you look at the world around you in a whole new way and that native and non-native plants in your own backyard have so much value and should be appreciated.
