CANCELLED DUE TO HEAT: Out of an abundance of caution based on the National Weather Service forecast of 97 degrees in Ojai on Sunday, I am cancelling the Herb Walk at Cluff Vista Park. (6/22/21)

REGISTER

Beginning Sunday, April 11, 2021, I will lead a series of two-hour Ojai Urban Herb Walks on Sunday mornings in April, May and June in downtown Ojai. Meetup locations and itineraries will vary. We’ll walk less than a mile total distance and visit useful native and non-native plants in and around Libbey Park and the surrounding downtown area. Also included on some days: Cluff Vista Park and the Chumash Garden at the Ojai Valley Museum. The June 27 walk will visit Cluff Vista Park and the surrounding area. Cluff Vista Park is a premier native plant demonstration garden. The park provides an easy-to-access place to see how California’s native plants do in urban landscapes. We will focus on how to identify these plants and discuss their edible and medicinal uses. Plaques and signage sprinkled throughout the park will serve as talking points for some of the cultural history of Ojai.

Until such time as they are no longer needed, safeguards will be in place to prevent possible transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Attendance will be limited to 12 participants. Temperatures will be checked on arrival, face coverings will be required, and we will maintain 6 feet of physical distance at all times. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms or a positive diagnosis is asked to stay home and a refund will be issued.

No dogs or smoking, please.

The cost for these walks is $25/person. Please use the REGISTER button at top and bottom of this page to sign up before securing your space with the PayPal button. Please note that the PayPal admission charge includes their fee. If mailing time permits, when you register you can request instructions for mailing a check for $25 instead of using PayPal. Registrants will receive parking directions by email.

If the event sells out, PayPal will not accept your payment. You will see a message that says this event “is not available at this time” and you will be returned to this page.
