It explains the inner workings of plant medicine, such as how manzanita’s (Arctostaphylos spp.) arbutin becomes antiseptic in the urinary tract. Thank you for leading a terrific herb walk on a perfect day. In all my years in Ventura County, that was my first venture into the Potrero. I was immediately struck by the awe inspiring view of Mt. Haddock framed by complex sedimentary rock walls forming the canyon. I was a little surprised at the diversity of the flora in the canyon. Thanks for the workshop. As I shared on Saturday, it was life-changing for me. 🙂 Now, I am off to the nursery to get started planting. Matilija Nursery has hybrid sage for sale. The Datura that we soaked our hands in wore off Monday. Boy, I wished I had taken some of it with me. Thanks again. I will sign up for more classes as time permits.

We truly enjoyed Saturday’s Herb Walk. It was not only highly informational about our coastal edible and medicinal plants (I still can’t get over how the antidote Mugwort plant was almost always growing right next to Poison Oak!), but it was such a pleasant way to get some exercise and enjoy nature simultaneously.
