Lanny’s book is an absolute gem for local plant enthusiasts, herbalists, hikers, and naturalists of all kinds. I have read it cover to cover numerous times now and find myself recommending it to everyone I know who loves to learn about plants. Well researched, thoughtfully presented, and incredibly useful!

Thank you for leading a terrific herb walk on a perfect day. In all my years in Ventura County, that was my first venture into the Potrero. I was immediately struck by the awe inspiring view of Mt. Haddock framed by complex sedimentary rock walls forming the canyon. I was a little surprised at the diversity of the flora in the canyon. Admittedly, I probably know less about botany than anyone else on the hike. The PDF document you attached will reinforce all of the in-field learning.
