I just wanted to send a big “thank you” for the classes this weekend! I meant to share my thanks in person yesterday as I was leaving but you were busy speaking with others. The classes were so interesting, informative, and inspired! I had a great time and learned so much. A highlight for me (among many!) was the recognition and reverence for the Indigenous people who you and the other teachers learned from. The herb walk conducted by Lanny Kaufer was immensely enjoyable and an unforgettable experience. His enjoyment and enthusiasm encourages you to go out in nature and see the natural world for what it is worth. You would hardly even know that the plants in your own backyard have specific uses both herbally , medicinally, and beauty. His herb walks makes you look at the world around you in a whole new way and that native and non-native plants in your own backyard have so much value and should be appreciated. You learn valuable skills in how to properly identify plants and what plants to avoid if you are hiking by yourself or with others.
