Join me for an herb walk on the Ojai Meadows Preserve as part of the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy’s “All About Ojai” series. This interpretive walk will have an emphasis on edible and medicinal plants, those classified as “herbs” for their culinary and medicinal properties. We will discuss the plants’ traditional and modern uses for food, home remedies, botanical medicine, survival, wildcrafting, landscaping, camping, crafts, ceremony and more.

You’ll learn to positively identify native plants in their natural habitats including those suitable for foraging. You’ll also discover their roles in the ecology of the area. The walk is timed with the OVLC’s annual Native Plant Sale and we will visit the sale at the beginning of the walk to allow participants to make purchases.

We will park at Meiners Oaks Elementary School or curbside on Lomita Avenue and meet by the sign at the entrance.

This walk is free for OVLC members and $15 per person for non-members. Space is limited. Reservations required at ovlc.org.
