I had the pleasure of leading an Herb Walk for the Ventura Skills, Training and Emergency Planning Network on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura. The focus was on plants that could be used in survival situations for food, medicine, tools, etc, as well as how to identify and avoid poisonous plants. Of course, we talked about ecology, insects, the drought, the Chumash and many other topics that naturally come up when you’re on an Herb Walk. Thanks to Amy and Jim Herron for organizing this event for the group.

Visit the Photo Gallery for photos by Amy Herron. The album is currently at the top of the page but will move down as other albums are added.
