Homemade Elderberry Soda
It’s at least 106° here in Ojai today but feels even hotter. I’m keeping cool with a swamp cooler and a glass of homemade Elderberry Soda. Half fresh-squeezed, locally harvested Elderberry juice and half club soda on ice. If I really feel like having a treat I first mix the Elderberry juice 50/50 with simple syrup made from organic sugar. Today I’m enjoying the natural sweetness of the ripe berries. Details and photos on the whole harvesting/processing adventure to follow in another post. It’s too hot to do much of anything right now.
